Little Farmers Club

Little Farmers Club

Take a look at our Little Farmers Club aimed at 2-4 year olds. Fun and interactive learning every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday in term time.

Each week has its own topic based on a story-book and involves an animal activity as well as a fun take-home craft! A snack is provided for the little ones, as well as a hot drink for the adults!

Little Farmers is a weekly group for children aged 2-4 years which aims to develop their early learning skills in a hands-on environment. The sessions are held at the farm every weekday morning from 10am until 12 noon. Each week is based on a story!

The sessions are run by two experienced members of our education team, with all the bespoke activities/crafts made to encourage learning and personal development. Little Farmers is also a great chance for your little ones to socialise.

Term starting 7th September

Week 1: (WC 7th September) –  All Around the Farm

This week, the Little Farmers will be learning all our animals around the farm, their conservation status and their place on the rare-breeds list.

They will get the chance to feed these animals after reading this week’s story ‘Let’s go to the farm’.

This week’s craft will involve creating your own animal headbands to take home, before singing ‘Old McDonald’.

There will be no Friday session this week.

Week 2: (WC 14th September) –  Slithery Snakes!

This week, the Little Farmers will be meeting one of our own slithery snakes. We have a few different species of snakes at the farm, and which one our Little Farmers will meet will be a surprise each day.

This week’s craft will be making a paper-chain snake that you can create and decorate, just like the snake you have met on the day.

There will be no Friday session this week.

Week 3: (WC 21st September –  South America!

In this session, the Little Farmers will see some of our animals from South America, including the exciting new animal arrival… Alf, the Tapir.

The groups will spend some time with our six-banded armadillos and provide them with some enrichment.

This week’s craft will be making some rain shakers, so our Little Farmer’s can recreate the sound of a rainforest as we sing our song of the session, ‘Five little speckle frogs’.

There will be no Friday session this week.

Week 4: (WC 28th September)  –  Harvest Festival!

This week, the Little Farmers will be going on a tractor ride to celebrate the harvest festival. As well as the tractor ride, the groups will head to the Conservation Area to do some tree-tracing.

After the break this week, the Little Farmers will be heading around the farm on an autumn scavenger hunt!

Week 5: (WC 5th October)World Animal Day!

This week, the Little Farmers will be spending the session meeting our ponies and guinea pigs to celebrate World Animal Day.

The group will be split, with one half heading top the picture frame to groom our ponies, and the other half meeting a guinea pig!

The craft this week will be making our very own bee hotel that the Little Farmers can take home to put in their gardens.

Week 6: (WC 12th October)Halloween!

This week, the Little Farmers are going to be feeding the animals a spooky treat… some pumpkins! The groups will be feeding both the chickens and pigs some tasty pumpkin to celebrate Halloween.

After feeding the animals some pumpkin, it’s time for the Little Farmers to enjoy some  messy pumpkin play! The session will close with the group singing ‘I’m a little pumpkin’.
