Christmas Farm & Zoo Self-Led Visit
A Christmas Experience full of Festive Treats! School Groups can get involved in our self-led experience around the farm where you are free to take your group around the farm at your own pace to meet and feed our lovely animals.
This includes a festive educational talk where you will arrange a time to meet a keeper, who will provide your group with a 30 minute workshop all about our Christmas animals. The day also includes our Santa-Sleigh Experience/
You’ll meet a mixture of friendly farm animals as well as our amazing range of exotic zoo animals and if you want to see them being fed, pop along to their enclosures at the timetable feeding times throughout the day.
You will be allocated your own space to store your lunches and enjoy in the heated indoor barn whenever you are ready during the day. You will also meet up with a WPFZ Guide or Elf at the Christmas Barn, where the children will settle into a sled for storytime with the man himself; Santa Claus.
Every child will leave with a wrapped gift (activity book) to make sure they remember their day full of amazing animals and Christmas magic.

The Risk assessment for Guided Visits is also available to download below. We also offer a free preliminary visit pass to each school/organisation if you wish to send some staff members to the farm before the day.
This is a great chance to complete your own risk assessments and ask any questions about the visit. This will be offered to you on booking.
Plan your Day!
Your group will arrive at the farm and be greeted by a member of the WPFZ team, who will provide you with essential information about your visit, give you a map and timetable, as well as a bag of food per 5 children.
Your group will have a designated indoor eating space to drop off any bags before getting started for the day.
Your visit includes a festive educational talk where you will arrange a time to meet a keeper, who will provide your group with a 30 minute workshop all about our Christmas animals.
Included in your Christmas Self-Led experience, your group will enjoy a private Santa-Sleigh experience, where the children will sit in their own sleighs, listen to Santa read a special Christmas story and grab a group photo with the man himself! All children will leave with a wrapped activity book to take home
There are lots of other areas for your group to visit on your school trip! This includes: Reptiles of the World, Go Active Falconry Centre, The Nocturnal Room, Meerkat enclosures, Porcupine and more!
With lots of photo opportunities throughout the day, as well as animal interactions and learning outside the classroom. Our School Visits are a fabulous day our for all ages!
